Director - Institute of Rural Management Anand
Dr. R.C. Natarajan is the Director of Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA). He holds a Ph.D. in Management from Manipal University, PGDRM (Post-graduate Diploma in Rural Management), from Institute of Rural Management, Anand and M.A. (Economics) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
On completing PGDRM from IRMA in 1984 he started his career with the Tamilnadu Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (aavin), Madras, and later joined Dalmia Industries Limited, Tamilnadu. In 1993, he joined Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Limited, Anand, that markets AMUL brands. In 1999, he joined T.A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), Manipal. He taught PGDM students courses on Marketing Management, Marketing Strategy (MARKSTRAT), Distribution Channels and Managerial Communication. He also taught at XLRI, Dubai a course on Communication Skills during 2005-06.
Dr. Natarajan joined the Indian Institute of Management Indore in 2008 as Professor of Marketing. There, he also held the post of Chair, Distance Education–through Broad Band platform.
In 2008 Dr. Natarajan was awarded the Dewang Mehta Best Teacher-Marketing Management. His hobbies include cricket, chess, and bridge.
In February 2012 he took charge as the Director of TAPMI, Manipal, a post he held till September 2016. The highlight of his career at TAPMI were his spear heading skills and obtaining AACSB Accreditation for the school, bringing back the school from the brink of financial extinction, and obtaining NBA accreditation for five years. During his tenure as Director, TAPMI grew in stature and moved up in B-school rankings consistently among the top 20 in India.
Dr. Natarajan joined IRMA as Director on September 21, 2016.
